  • Essential Function
  • Lead the design, development, and activation of our people strategy to meet our target business outcomes and growth ambitions; this will include the creation of a multi-year talent plan and business case with assessable outcomes and stage gates to measure success; adapt as business needs evolve.
  • Provide leadership to the Human Resources team in talent acquisition, Human Resources operations, total rewards, payroll, employee and labor relations, employee engagement and retention, employee wellness, and organizational development functions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships at all levels by demonstrating an understanding of business, strategic, and fiscal priorities, including identifying how Human Resources can support the execution of these priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws; work with in-house and outside counsel on compliance programs, legal interpretation, agency complaints, litigation, grievances, and arbitrations.
  • Serve as key member in the development and execution of the company's labor strategy. Provide leadership and support to supervisors related to contract interpretation, internal investigations, and discipline; handle labor grievances, general labor/management relations, compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, and training.
  • Develop and lead talent development programs that enhance our organizational effectiveness, build strong leaders, promote ACS values, and ensure that Company culture is fostered as the company evolves.
  • Ensure recruiting strategy is in place to support the business; develop the ability to hire niche skills for innovative solutions; proactively work with senior leadership to understand future needs and ensure recruitment function can deliver business requirements.
  • Optimize the quality and efficiency of key HR processes, technology, and operations to provide a better experience while minimizing risk; ensure all HR processes, technology, and operations are managed with quality and compliance.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with the organization's business goals and objectives. Oversee the design and administration of salary structures, incentives, and benefit programs.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Minimum twelve years of recent, significant experience as a seasoned HR Practitioner with a proven track record in large organizations with operational hubs; salary and title based on experience and education.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience in a relevant field such as Human Resources, business administration, employment law, and / or organizational psychology; master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Extensive experience working for organizations with a represented workforce.
  • Solid experience providing strategic Human Resources consultation to senior business leaders driving optimal business outcomes and minimizing risk.
  • Experience in transforming Human Resources functions by deploying technology, redesigning processes, and increasing efficiency and effectiveness in the deployment of resources.
  • Experience of designing and deploying initiatives to create an enhanced employee experience including HR digital experiences, engagement initiatives, learning and development, career mobility and wellbeing.
  • Material experience in managing change, showing an ability to deploy an agreed method and approach but capable of demonstrating agility to maintain momentum.
  • Working knowledge of labor and employment laws; experience working with in-house and outside counsel on legal issues; experience dealing with legal issues involving state and federal agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, State of Alaska Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, and other governmental agencies.
