The Vice President Regulatory Law MedTech for North America directs Johnson & Johnson's North America (NA) regulatory legal practice group, which advises the NA MedTech business on compliance with laws and regulations affecting research and development, product development, commercial offerings and pricing, product life-cycle management, quality, and marketing activities. This role is relied upon to ensure the overall regulatory, quality and safety compliance of the NA MedTech portfolio of J&J and as such this role provides direct leadership and management for the provision of regulatory legal support to the commercial, quality, regulatory affairs, and research and development organizations and other functional groups within J&J's MedTech business. This leader is also actively engaged with the external regulatory environment and represents the interests of J&J directly in trade groups such as AdvaMed.
This leader oversees a team of approximately 10 lawyers and professionals who provide regulatory legal support to the J&J MedTech business. This leader exercises extensive executive responsibility. The person plans workloads and establishes productivity goals for the subordinate staff and holds the authority to render decisions on staff selection, promotion and compensation. Further this leader provides guidance and direction to the staff on work priorities, travel expenses and other budgetary matters. This leader is also a member of the J&J Global Regulatory Legal Leadership Team and the Extended Leadership Team for the General Counsel of the MedTech Sector (rotational), and the Extended Leadership Teams for MedTech Regulatory Affairs and Quality.
Responsibilities Include:
•Provide legal advice to the MedTech business on Regulatory Law matters and supervision and support to the team; direct regulatory legal support for certain assigned MedTech business platforms.

This leader may be called upon to lead several Global Legal Organization (GLO) initiatives and is eligible to serve on the North America Regional Leadership Team and the Global Leaders Forum ("GLF") and GLF SteerCo, all extended leadership teams of the GLO.The leader is also expected to engage in broader enterprise leadership roles (e.g. ERGs and other initiatives).Up to 15% domestic and Global travel may be required.
