Position Overview:

The VP of Radiology Services will provide strategic direction and operational leadership for regional Radiology Services. As a Senior Leader, the individual will collaborate with Medical Leadership & Executive Management to ensure strategic focus and tactical execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to the following)

  • Develop and execute a strategic direction, vision, and plan to ensure continued quality, operational performance, and growth targets are met.
  • Oversee all administrative ownership for all radiology services including but not limited to CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, General X-Ray, Mammo, DEXA and Ultrasound.
  • Partner and collaborate with Radiology Medical Leadership to ensure clinical and operational alignment.
  • Partner and collaborate with Radiologists ensuring clinically standardized and quality-focused care is provided.
  • Responsible for developing business cases to support organizational objectives.
  • Required to lead the creation of operational, financial, and clinical aspects of Radiology program development.

  • Review and monitor financial performance of the Radiology service line and drive towards key financial targets.

  • Develop and lead a team of clinical and business operations leaders who are responsible for delivering radiology services.
  • Lead the design and management of clinical regulatory, license and accreditation compliance.
  • Lead the design and management of business continuity operations.
  • Lead the design and management of 3rd party joint ventures to create and implement a complete clinical care experience.
  • Report out key performance indicators to Executive Management within the Tri-State region to ensure targets are being met.
  • Partner and collaborate with other Optum Radiology partners or strategic corporate functions as required.


Performance Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Radiology Services and practice in strategic plan development, innovation program deployment, clinical efficacy, organizational policies and procedures and operational performance.
  • Skilled in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of Radiology Services to ensure high quality patient care.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with medical, clinical, and operational leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analytics, workforce projections and management, and staffing budget preparations.
  • Executive Leadership and Management to ensure departmental and business strategy are aligned.
  • Ability to lead and provide direction to ensure the realization of key objectives.

  • Adheres to all National, State and Tri-State regional regulations, policies and procedures including ACR, MQSA, NY & NJ State, OSHA and HIPAA standards and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of best practice procedures for varying specialties and their impact on Radiology services.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations with equanimity and lead teams to manage through change.


Typical Physical Demands:

  • Work requires sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephones, and copiers.
  • Travel to various practice locations.

  • Work is performed in a variety of settings and offices.
  • Involves frequent contact with employee(s), provider(s), manager(s) and supervisor(s).
  • Work may be stressful at times, interaction with others is constant and interruptive.


Qualifications:

  • Superior management and organizational skills including the ability to facilitate strategy development and lead cross functional teams.
  • Direct experience in operating and leading Multi-modality Radiology Services across multiple locations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the skills to lead, teach and persuade others.
  • A high level of analytical and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in design and execution of complex clinical or administrative systems or programs.
  • Experience in process and quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is preferred.
  • Established reputation as a leader, business partner, and agent for change management.
  • Comprehensive and thorough understanding of all elements of health care delivery in patient care setting, including strategy, business planning, operations, and finances.
  • Understanding of health care industry changes, competitor actions, legal/regulatory changes, and technological trends.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • PC proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with office software applications.


Experience:

  • Ten or more years of Radiology experience.
  • Ten or more years of progressive leadership in healthcare.
  • Ten or more years of a proven track record in Radiology operations, Radiology Services development and related business planning and performance management.


Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in clinical or business-related field required.
  • Master's degree in Business; Health Administration preferred.
  • Advanced degree or certification in the Medical Technologist field preferred.


Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada or NYC Residents Only: The pay range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100 per year. The pay range for Connecticut / Nevada/NYC residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your base compensation, Optum Medical Care, P.C. offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
