Purpose

The VP, PSC Operations is an Executive Leadership role responsible for the comprehensive service delivery of Patient Service Center’s (PSC) operations including program launch, ongoing management, and management of assigned PSC teams. The VP will provide strategic oversight and guidance across a portfolio of programs and have a high-level understanding of program components and capabilities. The VP shall ensure that targeted metrics and client performance guarantees are met or exceeded and that all pharma programs are administered accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations and documented business rules. The VP will serve as a primary executive point of contact for PSC client requests, but will mainly provide direction and coordination via Department, Program, and Account Directors to ensure the efficient and effective operations of internal teams. The VP will work closely with leaders of Non-Commercial Pharmacy, Implementation, Business Operations, and Technology teams to support patient support program operations. The VP of PSC Operations will also be responsible for the ongoing evaluation of patient support program performance, client management, and the delivery of proactive strategic guidance to maximize the future success of PSC operations. This position reports to the President, RareMed Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of Patient Service Center’s patient support program operations
  • Collaborates with Patient Service Center’s Non-Commercial Pharmacy, Technology, Implementation and Business Operations teams to support operations
  • Oversees organizational and program metrics to ensure quality service and timely delivery/execution of contracted services
  • Provides program and team direction for a portfolio of client service programs while maintaining responsibility for team leadership that supports operations and client relationships
  • Conducts scheduled collaborative meetings with client to communicate status of program initiatives, referral status, exceptions, escalations, etc.
  • Oversees leadership responsible for program training materials, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quick reference guides for operational use
  • Facilitates discussions across program leadership to identify opportunities to improve program efficiency and patient care solutions
  • Supports teams while suggesting and responding to client direction regarding program strategic initiatives including but not limited to program design, marketplace conditions, program business rules, technology, etc.
  • Maintains responsibility for the review and delivery of presentations to internal and external stakeholders surrounding the program contractual compliance, status of patient care, successes in operations, opportunities for improvement, quarterly business reviews, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Non-Commercial Pharmacy team to provide integrated services that are compliant with applicable regulatory agency policies
  • Collaborates with the Implementation team dedicated to the tracking, management, and coordination of new initiatives, programs, products, and services within the Patient Service Center portfolio.
  • Ensures consistency across portfolio of programs regarding expectations with team performance and management of overall operational exceptions
  • Serves as a dynamic leader, delivering strategic direction while managing and influencing across multiple levels of complex organizations and adhering to RareMed values
  • Serves as a champion of organizational culture, instilling RareMed and client-driven values across the organization, promoting employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10 + years’ experience in healthcare management setting
  • Experience in a client facing account or program management role
  • Minimum of 10+ years of large team leadership (30+ team)
  • Experience in complex reimbursement spaces
  • Experience in building and scaling operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in healthcare or management
  • Prior experience in pharmacy or the healthcare industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to manage deliverables in a high pace environment.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and teleworking from the employee’s home address listed in their employment file. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. When telecommuting employees must have reliable internet access in order to access required systems and software associated with the position's responsibilities. The amount of time the employee is expected to work per day or pay period will not change as a result of participation in the teleworking program. Employees are responsible for the set-up of their home office environment, including physical set-up, internet connection, phone line, electricity, good lighting, comfortable temperature, furniture, etc. Employee’s teleworking space should be separate and distinct from their “home space” and allow for privacy. RareMed expects employees teleworking to be as efficient and professional as if they were in the office. The amount of time spent in office or teleworking is contingent upon the needs/priorities of RareMed and will vary based on those needs/priorities.
