POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Philanthropy will create, develop, and implement a comprehensive fundraising program for Film at Lincoln Center. The VP will ensure department effectiveness in meeting annual fundraising goals and growing philanthropy programs supporting the mission of FLC. The VP is responsible for collaborating with and advising the President, FLC Staff, and Board of Trustees on all matters related to philanthropy and fundraising.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Leadership & Oversight
- The VP provides thought leadership in planning for Film at Lincoln Center's overall advancement and leadership. In addition to oversight of the core fundraising activities, the VP will have oversight of Film at Lincoln Center's capital, endowment, and other fundraising campaigns and will manage a portfolio of high-net-worth level individual prospects and donors with the capacity to give six to seven-figure gifts.
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Create, implement, and manage the overall philanthropy strategy and all fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including regular reporting and setting short and long-term goals to increase contributed revenue.
- Cultivate, grow, and steward the philanthropy team's achievement of contributed revenue goals for individual, foundation, and government funding and special events, emphasizing identifying, cultivating, and securing new funding sources.
- Maintain and manage an individual portfolio of high-capacity donors, foundations, and grantors, soliciting six and seven-figure gifts for endowment and capital campaigns, special events (including the New York Film Festival, the Chaplin Award Gala, and other year-round annual programmatic needs), and other ad-hoc special fundraising initiatives.
- Actively manage membership and patron programs and work closely with the Marketing/Communication and Events departments to grow, nurture, and upgrade target groups through the donor journey.
Board Engagement
- In conjunction with the Senior Director of Special Events, curate highly elevated events with industry talent for board members, high-level donors, and prospects.
- Engage the Board Advancement Committee and the Board Nominating and Governance Committee on cultivation, fundraising-related, and board development needs and activities.
- Develop an ongoing comprehensive pipeline for Board prospects and prospective donors for large-scale fundraising initiatives, including capital and endowment campaigns and a planned giving circle.
Administrative & People Management
- Oversee the 5-6 employee department, providing guidance and direction to the Associate Director of Development and junior staff members in setting and achieving clear fundraising targets.
Strategic Positioning
- Work in parallel with the President and senior staff on best practices in fundraising, new and emerging trends and obstacles, and relevant developments in revenue generation and donor relations; proactively nurture and develop relationships with senior staff.
- Integrate fundraising activities across departments and align philanthropic priorities with the messaging and programmatic needs of Film at Lincoln Center.
- Develop, cultivate, and enhance Film at Lincoln Center's relationships among the Lincoln Center campus and throughout the arts and film communities.
- Other duties, as assigned, in support of departmental objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 8 - 10 years of senior-level fundraising experience from a leading non-profit institution, preferably in the arts sector, with a demonstrated track record of securing six and seven-figure individual and institutional gifts and the proven ability to manage all stages of the major gifts cycle.
- Experienced in developing fundraising collateral, proposals, donor correspondence, and related fundraising materials
- Experienced in engaging, managing, and motivating a Board of Directors.
- B.A. and a demonstrated effort of continuing professional development in fundraising are required.
- A passion for film and Film at Lincoln Center's mission and future.

SALARY DESCRIPTION
$200,000-$210,000 per year
