Duties / Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy for companywide procurement initiatives.
- Establish Home Office Purchasing Policies and ensure Division compliance.
- Develop and implement strategic procurement strategies and determine the need for new products and processes.
- Develop business requirements, scopes of work, and service level requirements for corporate and division purchasing agreements.
- Conduct product market assessments, stay current with competitor products, and prepare product specification recommendations.
- Develop and manage RFP processes including proposal and price analysis.
- Develop purchasing contracts for execution.
- Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships.
- Actively manage the procurement of National Account Products and associated Rebate Programs with the goal of increasing it from year to year.
- Lead the cost-saving strategy through the Purchasing Managers and negotiations with Trade Partners.
- Provide mentorship and training initiatives for Purchasing Managers in areas of negotiating, bid, and buying techniques.
- Provide guidance to division teams regarding waste reduction and improved purchase order accuracy.
- Work closely with the Architecture team to ensure structural value engineering for maximum efficiency and cost savings, including assisting with product development through suggestions of floor plans, products & processes.
- Standardize all aspects of Purchasing throughout the company, and provide strong coordination with Home Office.
- Establish and implement new procedures and procurement techniques as technology and needs change.
- Track commodity industry pricing trends.
- Ensure budgets are accurate and complete within Divisions.
- Communicate new plans, options, and feature changes to Sales and Marketing.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years purchasing and construction experience in high volume home building operations.
- 3 or more years of management experience with proven leadership ability.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Possess strong work ethic, integrity, and loyalty.
- Team-oriented with ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Should possess innovative ability, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of standard computer applications including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to perform multiple, detail-oriented tasks within simultaneous deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
