JOB DESCRIPTION
The Asset Management Finance team is a critical part of Antares and has oversight on all aspects of Fund financials and investor reporting with specific focus on Business Development Companies (BDCs). This individual will report to the BDC Chief Financial Officer and support on BDCs reporting, various strategic initiatives including financial reporting, overseeing third party administrators and ensuring accuracy via shadow booking of transactions, distributions, responding to investor inquiries, due diligence requests, etc. In this role, you will support the Fund finance organization for accounting and reporting of BDCs working with outside Fund Administrators and internal stakeholders. An ability to lead the team to complete multiple tasks while working under strict deadlines is essential. Our ideal candidate is independent, motivated, detail-orientated and able to analyze data and convey conclusions effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support your fund accounting team to meet client deadlines and efficiently/effectively oversee financial reporting process.
  • Using WSO as our shadow records, support the Fund Administrator to accurately produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including Form 10-Qs/10-K.
  • Prepare timely and accurate books and records, financial statements, capital account balances, capital call and distribution notices, and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.
  • Review various accounts and promptly research and correct any variances, including the cash and position reconciliation with Fund Administrator and WSO.
  • Review administrator deliverables to ensure accurate processing of activity, timely receipt of deliverables, accuracy of NAV reporting and financial statements, and accuracy of investor notices and reporting.
  • Support preparation of audit schedules, compliance reports, tax returns, financial statements, or other reports.
  • Review and support periodic reports to finance management on BDCs activities and other related accounting issues.
  • Research investments for the purpose of ensuring proper accounting treatment (such as the nature of distributions, original issue discounts, and valuations) and compliance with SEC, tax, and prospectus restrictions and limitations.
  • Review monthly NAV package prepared by the Fund Administrator
  • Assist the BDC CFO in risk and portfolio management related assigned tasks.
  • Support Marketing, Investor Relations teams on various performance reporting requirements
  • Review working papers in connection with RIC compliance with 1940 Act and tax guidelines.
  • Assist in improving efficiency through technology and other special projects as needed.

ABOUT YOU
  • Experience with fund accounting / financial reporting for private funds, and BDCs.
  • Experience in, or exposure to, middle market lending and private equity activity including first lien and junior capital types of structures.
  • Proactively seeks ways to constantly improve processes and implement best-in-class solutions.
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting function in fund accounting and/or auditor roles.
  • Experience with BDCs and SOX 404 compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Wall Street Office software (WSO) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and CPA.
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, well organized, and resourceful.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Positive "can-do" approach to responsibilities and work collaboratively with others.

New York City Only: salary ranges are specific to market location; the salary range for this position is USD $160,000 to $195,000 and eligible for annual bonus. Antares takes into consideration an individual's background, training, transferable skills, business needs, experience and market demands in determining final salary.
