Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Take and develop X-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment
- Provide compassionate care to animals in distress
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) or licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) is a plus
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, and animal physiology
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with pet grooming and kennel procedures is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions accurately
