VCA Valley Animal Hospital& Emergency Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team who cares for all our hospitalized patients.
The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
In addition to the standard Veterinary Technician skills, our ICU department values:
- Compassionate and detail oriented patient & client care skills encompassing the hospitalized patient experience
- Advanced tube placement & maintenance, including nasogastric tubes, central lines, and PICC lines
- Understanding, continuous monitoring, and management of critical and non-critical patients, ECGs, Blood Pressure, heart murmurs, variety of acute and chronic diseases processes, and special needs for all small animal species (canine, feline, avian, exotic companion mammal, and reptile)
- Ability to adapt to varying patient loads and communicate patient condition for all departments (Primary Care, Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Dental, and Exotics)
- Accurate assessment, stabilization, & evaluation of all hospitalized patients

Compensation varies based on education, experience, and current AZ CVT license: $17 - 24/hour (includes scale for licensed and unlicensed Veterinary Technicians)
Hiring for overnight shifts, full time only at this time. Typical hours are 7p - 7:30a, 3 days/week. Schedule flexibility required.
