• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with the veterinary team and pet owners in a professional and compassionate manner

• Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrated care and empathy for canine and feline patients, providing comfort and reassurance to patients in distress

• Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physically demanding aspects of the job, including lifting, restraining, and assisting with the transportation of canine and feline patients

• Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and attention to detail to accurately report patient behavior and condition to the veterinary team

• Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• As an Veterinary Technician Assistant, you will provide valuable support to our Veterinary Technicians and veterinarians in delivering exceptional care to our animal patients

• This role is vital to maintaining a smooth workflow and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients

• Patient Care Support: Assist Veterinary Technicians and veterinarians in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to canine and feline patients

• This includes feeding, bathing, grooming, and ensuring patients' comfort and cleanliness

• Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized veterinary facility, including cleaning kennels, changing bedding, and disinfecting surfaces

• Adhere to proper infection control protocols

• Equipment Preparation: Prepare and organize equipment and supplies required for procedures and treatments

• Assisting with Procedures: Provide assistance to Veterinary Technicians, veterinary assistants and veterinarians during procedures, including restraining canine and feline patients, preparing equipment, and monitoring patients

• Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient behavior, appetite, or physical condition to the veterinary team

• Recordkeeping: Accurately document patient information, treatments, and observations in medical records

• Client Communication: Provide friendly and professional communication with pet owners, answering general inquiries, relaying messages, and providing updates on patient care as directed by the veterinary team

• Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control and restocking of supplies and medications

• Facility Assistance: Provide support to other departments or areas of the hospital as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the veterinary facility
