Job Description
Here at Laytonsville Veterinary Practice we are looking to fill 2 full-time Veterinary Technician roles. We are looking for two well rounded and experienced Veterinary Technicians.
This position does require physical handling and restraint of patients (canine, feline and rabbits) for routine vaccine appointments, out-patient/sick appointments, and emergency based appointments, blood draws and IV catheter placements, as well as x-ray and ultrasound imaging.
Anesthesia monitoring for dentals and routine surgeries (spay, neuter and soft tissue surgery), our doctors at Laytonsville Veterinary Practice do perform invasive surgery such as splenectomy, cholecystectomy, intestinal/organ biopsies and amputations.
You will have the opportunity to excel and learn advanced skills. Here at LVP our technicians are experienced in client communication, patient handling, running and reading fecal examinations, drawing blood from patients for routine and preanesthetic blood work, placing IV catheters, monitoring anesthesia for surgery, assisting the doctor during surgery such as; opening sterile instruments, supplies, and suture packets.

This position does require working morning and evening shifts Monday-Thursday, Friday evenings and Saturdays (rotation).
