We are Patient Champions, with our actions and processes focused on providing the best care for our patients and the clients who entrust us with their pets’ medical needs.

Our first location, Ghent Veterinary Hospital, opened in 2015. Our new location on Granby Street in Norfolk will open in February 2024. We are a full-service veterinary hospital and emphasize preventive medicine and superb client care. Ghent Vet is AAHA Accredited, and our team members are all Fear Free Certified Professionals.

The Ghent & Granby Client Services position is crucial in developing positive and welcoming relationships with our clients and patients. An elevated attention to detail increases a client’s trust in the excellent medical care provided by our veterinarians, licensed technicians, and veterinary assistants. The Client Services role is one of the most demanding and important positions within a veterinary hospital.

Our goal is to support the best veterinary staff in Coastal Virginia. We are locally owned and operated and are the only non-corporate veterinary hospital in Norfolk.

What is Expected:

• Collaborate and effectively communicate within a team of professionals, including Client Services peers, veterinarians, licensed technicians, and veterinary assistants.
• Work well under pressure, maintain composure, and have the emotional strength to consistently operate in difficult circumstances (for example, patients requiring urgent medical attention or a distraught client).
• Strong topical knowledge of all facets of veterinary reception, or the ability to learn and retain this content knowledge. This includes adhering to our specific standards of care, learning vaccine and prevention protocols, and communicating effectively in both urgent and non-urgent situations.
• The ability to learn and comfortably navigate different electronic platforms to support our clients and patients. This includes learning our full-service practice information and management system (PIMS), texting platforms, and prescription fulfillment platforms.
• Active participation in the continuous improvement of our overall hospital processes, which includes advocating for our team, learning new protocols and processes, and sharing new ideas as opportunities arise.
• Very diligent record-keeping, thoroughness, and follow-through. All touch points with a client and patient are significant, and we thoroughly document all information related to a patient’s care to facilitate the best outcomes possible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 42 per week
