Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services is excited to announce we are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy emergency and specialty practice here in Staten Island! If you have experience working with animals, or you have always envisioned a career in the veterinary field, then we want to hear from you!
Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services is looking for hard-working, motivated candidates who have the desire to learn and be part of a team to help support our growing practice. You must have a flexible schedule to support our 24-hour hospital. We are very proud to offer financial support to eligible candidates who are interested in obtaining their degree in veterinary technology and pursuing their NY veterinary technician license through the Penn Foster program.
About GSiVS: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in cardiology, surgery, and critical care. Our clients and patients also have access to internal medicine, ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment via our affiliated practices in Tinton Falls and Iselin, NJ.

Veterinary Assistantsat GSiVS work alongside licensed veterinary technicians, emergency doctors, and veterinary specialists and have access to the most advanced diagnostic tools to provide the best possible care. On any given day, you can expect to do the following as a Veterinary Assistant:
- Provide support to doctors and technicians
- Restrain patients for exams and procedures
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
- Monitor and document patient’s vital signs
- Assist with obtaining radiographs
- Properly use and maintain hospital equipment
- Helps keep hospital clean, neat and stocked
- Walk dogs as directed
- Feed patients as directed

Schedule:
- Overnight 9:30 pm – 8 am, four shifts per week
Salary:
- $17-$22/Hour, depending on experience
- Shift pay differential for Overnights and Weekend shifts
