Auburn Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to add to our fantastic team! We are a full-service animal hospital providing exceptional care for dogs and cats in Auburn GA and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Take and develop x-rays
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Provide assistance with dental cleanings and procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team member
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments to animals
- Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and documentation
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Please note that experience in pet grooming or dog training is not required for this position. However, if you have experience in these areas, it can be an added advantage.
