Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to our animal patients. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for animals and a desire to work in a veterinary setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing medical care to animals
- Handle dogs and other animals with care and compassion
- Perform laboratory procedures, such as blood draws and sample collection
- Assist with administering medications and treatments to animals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic
- Assist with pet sitting and monitoring of hospitalized animals
- Practice proper aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infection
- Assist with dog training exercises as directed by veterinarians or trainers
- Monitor animal vital signs and report any abnormalities to the veterinary team
- Provide support during veterinary critical care procedures
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and behavior
- Proficient in handling dogs and other animals safely and effectively
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology
- Ability to perform basic laboratory tests and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
