SalaryEdmonds-Westgate Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
Qualifications and experience:
- Prior veterinary experience is preferred
- High energy team players with excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities
- Candidates should have great attention to detail
- Outgoing and friendly individuals who enjoy connecting with clients as well as the team.
Primary skills and responsibilities:
- Client communication and education
- Review medical records, estimates, and discharge instructions with clients
- Phlebotomy
- Ear cytology
- Dental cleanings
- Entering accurate, detailed information into electronic medical records
- Mentoring other members of the hospital team
- Helping maintain the flow of patients through appointments and procedures
- Collect and perform lab procedures
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Obtain and record patient history
- Field questions and inquiries about services, triage, and products
- Calculate and properly administer fluids and medications
- Prep wounds and apply bandages
- Multi-tasking
- Taking history/scribing
- Discharge procedures
- General hospital cleaning
- Liaising between clients and technical team
- Handling difficult/emotional events with tact and diplomacy
