Veterinary Assistant

Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital, a high-quality, progressive, multi-doctor practice, is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to join our exceptional team. Prior veterinary, humane society, or other animal-related experience is preferred, however, we’re also open to training.

We are looking to fill this as a full-time position: 4-10s, Monday-Saturday.

Background and experience:?

• Comfortable around small animals (dogs and cats)
• Empathetic and caring personality with excellent customer service skills
• Passionate about building a strong bond with Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital clientele
• Team player who is productive, dependable, focused, and detail-oriented
• Committed to a career in veterinary medicine with an interest in growth and ongoing training
• Familiar with (or eager to learn about) the veterinary field (Fear Free patient handling, terminology, procedures, medical conditions, etc.)

Responsibilities:

• Client communication and education
• Assisting appointments
• Patient handling and restraint (cats, dogs, pocket pets)
• Vaccine and medication administration
• Blood draws
• Outpatient procedures
• Assisting with phones and front desk duties
• Monitoring hospital flow and daily assignments
