Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas.  We offer medical detox as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location.  Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients. We accept private insurance, state-funded plans and self-pay arrangements.

Job Summary:The foremost responsibility of the position is to lead and coordinate the organization’s efforts to effectively communicate and develop referring relationships with payors, professional referral sources, consumers and other customers of Stonington’s Military Programs.  The VA Liaison will meet the needs of Veterans, and assure Veterans understand how to best use facility services.

 

Job Functions:

  • In consultation with the CEO, designs, develops, implements and manages the marketing philosophy, policy, procedures and strategic goals for the for Veterans within the Starlight Military Program.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates monthly, seasonal, annual marketing plans with input from the CEO and other members of the senior management team as needed.
  • Leads the market/region strategic plan for increasing Veteran’s services with direct to Veteran business development activities.
  • Develops and maintains service relationships and service systems with/for key clients often including managed care organizations, professional referral sources, professional medical staff, EAPs and other target segments and special referral sources, including, Tricare, active duty military SARPs, and VA systems.
  • Monitors satisfaction of patients, referral sources and other customers.
  • Represents the product line of Veterans Services and acts as the point of contact for referrals.
  • Acts as a conduit for communication between VA CCN Care Navigators, VAMC Social Workers and treating facility for all veteran treatment episodes.
  • Integrates into regional Veteran’s community organizations to educate on the Missions Act and UHS service offerings.
  • Assists in coordinating travel as requested by the VAMC or Veteran once the Veteran is accepted for treatment at the facility.
  • Conducts service recovery, as necessary with VA Staff, Veteran family members and VACCN case managers.
  • Will promote a positive image of the facility and Universal Health Services, Inc.
  • Attends key meetings and conferences related to serving Veterans.
  • Provides ownership of development, execution and results of the strategic plan for growing Veteran services at facility.

Qualifications

The candidate must be a Veteran and possess the following education, training and experience to qualify for consideration for this position: Education: Bachelors in Marketing, Business Administration or some Behavioral Science is preferred.
