About the Opportunity
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Military Affiliated Enrollment and Financial Services, this hybrid position serves as a VA School Certifying Official and the primary customer service representative for current and prospective military and veteran students. This role will provide outstanding customer service to prospective and enrolled student veterans and service members by being knowledgeable about the university's academic, financial, and student affairs policies, programs, and procedures and offering a single point of contact for coordination of all university services. A successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of veterans' educational benefits to provide the best possible information to prospective and enrolled student veterans to help them maximize their eligibility.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Timely and accurate processing of Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs education benefit certification and Yellow Ribbon award calculations
  • Responding to military affiliated student inquiries
  • Advocating for the student veteran and referring those experiencing difficulties to the appropriate University service.
  • Awarding scholarships
  • Reconciling VA payment and student account related issues
  • Perform periodic audits of VA benefit records for quality assurance and compliance with federal and state requirements.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' experience working in enrollment management and/or student affairs setting
  • 3-5 years' experience working with veteran's educational benefits
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated success working with a diverse student population
  • Ability to multi-task, be self-motivated, organize time and work under pressure.
