Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working Breeder Assistant for a busy, established French Bulldog breeder. Ideal candidate has Vet Tech experience, or other relevant animal experience. Assistant supports Owner by tending to various needs of all puppies and adult breeding dogs. Labor and hours are more intensive during litters. This is a unique growth opportunity with the genuine potential to grow into as much responsibility as you can handle. This is a role for those with a deep passion for dogs, and a desire to learn the dog breeding business. We all work together to create a clean and calm environment for our bulldogs. These dogs are high-value and extremely fragile, and there is high potential for loss of puppy life. Ability to maintain optimal puppy health in high-pressure situations is a must.

Employee requirements:

Vet Tech experience preferred, but not required

Must have reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License

Must live within 30 minutes of New Haven

Background check required

Must be able to work flexible hours

Must be able to learn from mistakes

And of course….must love dogs!

Job description:

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

· Tube feeding

· Neo natal puppy care

· Brush, bathe and trim nails of dogs

· Assist in artificial insemination

· Medical care

· Nursing

· Ensure safe transport of bulldogs (if needed)

· Routine caretaking of adult breeding dogs

· Diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses

· Dose/administer medications

· Take dogs out for elimination

· Assist mother in stimulation of puppies

· Supervise recreation for adults and puppies

· Track and record puppy weights

· Clean and disinfect pens and cages

· Remove feces, urine, blood etc.

THIS IS LABOR INTENSIVE, MESSY WORK. HOWEVER, This is a unique opportunity to learn the breeding business inside/out.

We offer:

$15-$20 (DOE)

PT/FT shifts available

Please note, the job is based out of Owner's home

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
