About Port Wilmington:

Port Wilmington is a leading terminal on the East Coast strategically located in Wilmington, Delaware providing turnkey vertically integrated logistics services for containers, dry bulk, and breakbulk products.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Container Operations Planner manages the planning of both vessel and yard container operations, they are the information center for operations and will be critical to the safe and efficient flow of containers to and from the vessels, warehouse, and gates. Interacts with internal, and external customers, as well as the Chief Mate on board the vessels, to establish and agree to the plan of discharge and destinations of cargo. The Vessel Supervisor position requires the managing the safe and efficient flow of containers, pallets and cargoes through the facility. Supervises the day-to-day operations performed by union labor and ensures the work is being completed as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises union workforce and ensures that work is being performed as directed.
  • Able to execute a multi-faceted plan of operations involving vessel, yard, gate, heavy lift, RORO, vessel line handling and warehouse operations.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ensures activities and duties are consistent with GT policies on SQF and FSMA.
  • Experience in systems skillset MSOffice/TOS
  • Ability to supervise, train and hold associates accountable for performance and results
  • Warehouse and stevedoring experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a 3-year driving history that is acceptable to our auto insurance carrier.


MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management or equivalent on the job experience in the Maritime business.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years Managerial/supervisory experience.
