We are currently looking for Vehicle/Equipment Mechanics to fill many open positions available in the City of Atlanta! In these positions, you would be responsible for working on Automotive, Diesel, Heavy Equipment any many other types of vehicles. These opportunities are open to skilled and experienced mechanics show dedication and a proven successful track record of vehicle repair & maintenance. Responsibilities

 

  • Running diagnostic tests on vehicles, completing work requests, performing fleet management tasks, reporting, and maintaining equipment which includes tow trucks, forklifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in daily operation of the garage.
  • Completes work requests, reviews vehicle service history, verifies warranty status, completes maintenance or repairs, advises vehicle status
  • Assists with fleet management; assesses repair or service needs of a vehicle; runs diagnostic tests on vehicles; may include towing for disabled vehicles, arrange pick-up or dispatch operable vehicles to applicable service facility for repair; performs post service inspections
  • Assists with reporting; compiles statistical information regarding labor, vehicle downtime and repair history

 

  • Manages work requests; reviews vehicle service history, performs complex service requests or repairs to vehicle; records completed vehicle repairs to ensure accurate vehicle history; may oversee, train or provide orientation to lower level employees
  • Provides fleet management; runs diagnostic tests on vehicles,; schedules repairs and service estimates; allocates funds for repair work and records invoice information; schedules towing for disabled vehicles to applicable service facility for repair; checks status of vehicle with vendor and communicates progress to customer; schedules post service inspections

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Completion of a 1-year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area
  • 3 years of experience in general automotive & collision repair (Preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in general automotive & collision repair (Minimum)
  • Valid State of Georgia CDL License is required (Or the ability to obtain one within a 6 month probationary period)
  • ASE Certified Mechanic in general automotive repair & collision is required
  • Knowledge of automotive terminology and principles of automotive collision
  • Skill in the use of computers; in troubleshooting vehicle maintenance issues and the care and use of basic mechanic tools
  • Ability to lift heavy loads

 

  • Completion of a 1-year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area (Level III Mechanic)
  • ASE Certified Automotive or Diesel Mechanic (Or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment) (Level III Mechanic)
  • 5 years experience with major vehicle repairs (Level III Mechanic)

 

 

 

Compensation

 

  • Full Benefits Package
  • $20 - $30 per hour
