Vehicle Tour Guide – Haleakalā Sunrise Driver
Company Overview
Skyline Hawai’i is a Maui-based eco-tourism company that offers zipline tours and Vehicle Tours of Haleakalā National Park. We established the first commercial zipline in the United States and are one of the most awarded tour companies in Hawai’i.
As a company, we are also passionate about conservation. In addition to donating more than $1.8 million to environmental and other nonprofits, since 2002 we have worked diligently to restore a native Hawaiian forest at Pōhakuokalā Gulch, planting more than 20,000 native trees and plants, and reintroducing 38 native species to the area.
All our tours reflect a deep commitment to conserving the natural wonder of the Hawaiian Islands.
Job Description
Our Vehicle Tour Guides take great pride in offering our guests a safe, memorable, and enriching experience. Tour Guides start their days early, picking guests up between 2:00am and 3:00am at Maui’s major resort areas. They transport guests to Haleakalā National Park for sunrise, sharing their knowledge about Hawai’i, Maui, and our exceptional environment along the way. After sunrise, Tour Guides drive guests to a local restaurant for breakfast before returning them to their accommodations (breakfast for Tour Guide is paid for by Skyline). Tour Guides then return their vehicles to the company’s warehouse, typically finishing their shift between 11:00am and 1:00pm. - Ensuring safety of guests. Our Vehicle Tour Guides safely drive guests from their accommodations to Haleakalā National Park and back in our 24-passenger buses, strictly observing all State and Federal traffic laws. They conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and work with other Skyline team members to ensure vehicles are maintained (e.g., highlighting any issues that need attention from our mechanics).
- Educating guests. Our guides help guests appreciate key aspects of Hawai’i’s unique ecosystem and history. (We will provide relevant training and guides are expected to relay this knowledge to guests).
- Demonstrating the highest levels of customer service. Our Vehicle Tour Guides operate their tours with the utmost professionalism and treat their guests with respect and generosity. They provide guests with a clean and comfortable driving experience, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and appropriately regulating air conditioning and lighting.

- Strict adherence to policies and protocols related to safety.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependability and reliability.
- Professional demeanor toward guests, members of the community, and Skyline Hawai’i teammates.
- *If hired, you will be required to provide a driver’s abstract and will be subject to a background check.*
