Our client is a leading mechanical contracting company in the Cincinnati area, specializing in comprehensive plumbing, piping, and HVAC solutions for commercial and light industrial projects. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, we are seeking a dynamic Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Manager to join our team and drive the integration of cutting-edge technology in our projects.
Position Overview:
As a VDC Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of Virtual Design and Construction strategies for our commercial plumbing, piping, and HVAC projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical systems, a keen understanding of construction technology, and a passion for optimizing project efficiency through advanced digital methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Virtual Design and Construction strategies tailored to commercial plumbing, piping, and HVAC projects to enhance overall project efficiency and accuracy.
Foster collaboration among project teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless integration of VDC processes and accurate representation of mechanical systems in the digital environment.
Oversee a group of 12-20 direct reports
Commercial projects range from $500k to $80MM+
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in construction technology and integrate relevant tools and software into project workflows, emphasizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D coordination.
Implement rigorous quality control measures to validate the accuracy of virtual models against physical construction, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Provide guidance and training to project teams on VDC processes, ensuring the adoption and proficiency of digital tools throughout the organization.
Proactively identify and address potential design clashes or construction issues through advanced clash detection and risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with clients to understand their project requirements, expectations, and ensure the successful integration of VDC practices aligning with project goals.
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE: Proven experience in commercial plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.
MUST HAVE: Expertise in Virtual Design and Construction methodologies.
MUST have experience with Revit Software.
MUST HAVE: Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical systems.
MUST HAVE: Proven management experience with a focus on collaboration and communication.
PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Construction Management
PREFERRED: Ohio Plumbing License
PREFERRED: Hospital project experience
