POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of a radiologist the Lead Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist serves as a medical imaging professional who provides clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Lead Technologist role and responsibilities includes the supervision of the ultrasound and vascular staff as well as professional development oversight of sonography staff. The Lead Sonographer activities and duties are consistent with education and training, and is in accordance with facility policies and procedures, and applicable professional standards.
Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Performs a variety of technical procedures that requires independent judgement. Responsible for management of all clinical and non-clinical activities in Ultrasound. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an approved accredited Ultrasonography School program
CPR certified.
Certified by ARDMS (AB BR OB/GYN), and RVT (VT) Or ARRT (S) and ARRT (VS) within 6 months of hire
2 Years US/VAS experience
Supervisory experience desired but not required.
AAS preferred.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
Satisfactory completion of an approved accredited Ultrasound School Program.
