This position has a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.

Transports persons served to and from scheduled events, appointments, and /or outings as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Transport persons served to and from appointments, outings or other events/activities. Assist ambulatory passengers as needed. Provide professional, courteous service.
2. Coordinate outing schedules with management.
3. Operate organization's vehicle in compliance with organizational, state and federal regulations.
4. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, interior and exterior.
5. Monitor vehicle maintenance and performance through regularly scheduled inspections and service repair. Report safety and maintenance concerns to supervisor.
6. Record mileage for all trips; maintain various vehicle logs as required.
7. Maintain/ensure a minimum of one-quarter tank of gas in vehicle at all times.
8. Prepare monthly reports as directed by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Prior experience driving a bus or van.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of state traffic laws.
• Ability to speak, read and write English; bilingual in language of persons served preferred.
• Ability to write legibly and accurately.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to work with vulnerable and/or culturally diverse persons.
• Ability to professionally and cooperatively work with staff, management, family members and general public.
• Possess basic knowledge of and ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks.

Additional Work Requirements

• Extended hours, including evening and weekends required.
• Valid Michigan chauffer's license with good driving record.
