Description
The driver is responsible for the efficient operation of the school van (14- passenger vehicle) and the safe transportation of students to and from school. (Athletic and academic events shifts available if interested.) The driver follows all regulations and procedures outlined in the Transportation Department Drivers' manual.
Responsibilities
- Drive van to designated locations, planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
- Inspect vehicle thoroughly before and after each trip.
- Maintain fueling of all vans.
- Safely transport goods and passengers.
- Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment and report all mechanical issues to Athletic Director immediately.
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Assist in the care and cleanliness of vans and proactively checking for van readiness prior to transporting students.
- Keep daily attendance records of students transported on van.
- The driver must arrive promptly to ensure timely van schedule.
- Set a good example in promptness, manners, language, appearance and health.
- Must support the Mission Statement of Archbishop Murphy High School.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Desired, but not required a valid CDL.
- Must maintain up to date first aid certification.
- Must complete a pre-employment criminal background check, driver MVR background check and complete a 45 minute Virus Training.
- Driver is expected to be clean, well-groomed, and dressed in reasonable and modest attire.
- Driver must have the ability to work part-time, split shifts, and some non-standard hours.
- Due to insurance restrictions, drivers must be at least 25 years of age.
