Job Description
General Job Description: As a Van Builder, you will model a can-do-it attitude as you tackle everything from cutting out windows to mounting roof racks to wiring circuitry to installing cabinetry. You must be committed to quality craftsmanship with a keen attention to detail and have a strong mechanical aptitude--installing lift kits and exterior accessories is a major function of this position.
The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and eager to learn the complex systems installed in our vans. Professional mechanical experience is required. Additional experience in plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, or other build trades preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Remove and install exterior accessories, including bumpers, roof racks, light bars, bicycle carriers, external storage options, ladders, awnings, etc.
Install lift kits and upgraded suspension systems
Install infrastructure, insulation, flooring, and wall panels
Cut through body panels to install windows, fans, etc.
Install third-party components such as heaters, AC units, and WIFI boosters
Install basic plumbing fixtures
Install basic electrical systems
Read and understand production documentation: drawings, installation instructions, etc.
Test systems and verify proper operation
Safely operate hand tools and power tools
Occasionally pickup or deliver materials
Expectations:
Work Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm at our shop in North Bonneville, WA
Willingness to work overtime when requested
Ability to learn quickly and with enthusiasm
Ability to work as a team or as an individual
Warranty and re-work is minimized or eliminated as the work is done right the first time
Van builds are completed on time and at a very high quality standard
Strong work ethic - must be punctual and self-motivated
Have a fun, kind, and positive attitude
Follow the daily work plan and priorities and contribute to improving processes
Keep shop clean and tools organized
Qualifications/Required Skills:
Valid driver license and clean driving record
Professional mechanical experience
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
Outstanding motivation and drive to complete projects on time
Ability to lift heavy items in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally, stand, squat, and lay down to complete required tasks
High-level knowledge and experience in electrical systems preferred
Experience working in the van, RV, automotive, marine, or other build industry preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay ranges between $22 - $29 an hour depending on experience
Nine paid holidays
