Value Stream Leader

Value Stream Leader (VSL) will be a member of a high-performance work team. VSL is responsible for providing accurate data in MES and attaining trends in each line for the purpose of isolating top hitters.

Qualifications:

• Prefer individuals with at least 2 years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
• Must have basic knowledge of computer systems
• Experience with data logging Production systems
• Detail oriented
• Highly proficient in Excel and Power point
• Highly organized

Responsibilities:

• Create a Matrix scoring for efficiency of passdowns, MES and Work Orders (breakdown by shift and department)
• VSL must provide trending of the data collected to identify top hitters for our daily flash Kaizens meetings.
• Provide controls to sustain centerlines.
• Manage deviation sheets

• Set goals and establish metrics for the departments
• Manage productivity levels with the departments
• Continuously improve productivity, flow, kanban, change-overs, predictive maintenance etc. through the implementation of Lean principles
• Experience in performing root cause and failure analysis.
• Decrease scrap levels and identify all forms of waste for elimination
• Establish stretch goals/metrics for the Value Stream – define success
• Actively participate in and lead self-directed Kaizen events
• Lead the development of current and future state Value Stream maps and continuous improvement plans, as well as the implementation of those plans across the Value Stream
• Be highly visible to associates and promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving
• Must be on the floor at least 60% of his/her time and coordinate with line leads
• Knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering concepts, principles and practices including Hydraulics, pneumatic, conveyors, etc.
• Utilize Six Sigma tactics, technical knowledge of mechanical systems and understanding of packaging practices to establish repairs.
• Support new product development by driving the operations requirements
• Review/ensure success of the day-to-day production activities within the Value Stream while driving improvements
• Lead cross functional performance Gemba and drive improvements
• Drive cross-functional execution and track daily performance through the use of process center communication boards on a daily basis ensuring root cause analysis and counter measures are identified
• Perform 5S audits/safety training
• Responsible for developing and monitoring standard work and quality standards
• Develop and deliver complete, fair, accurate and meaningful employee performance reviews
• Responsible for assigned team’s adherence to company policies and procedure.
