Job Purpose and Impact
The Value Added R&D Director will provide leadership to the Value Added research and development team engaged in research and development work regarding new products and process, technology, optimization and high performance innovation, and set and drive strategic innovation direction. In this role, you will help to align the team's innovation portfolio choices and identify, set and drive the strategic direction to ensure effective evolution and science behind implementation of new products and solutions and development and transfer of high performance technologies.
Key Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership to the Value Added research and development team
  • Catalyze dialogue with leadership to create innovation portfolio targets, endure clarity of portfolio target cascading into the organization and drive progress and advisory on how to execute the innovation portfolio
  • Build and execute the technical part of value-added integrated business plan, providing business partnership and resource management to drive value creation.
  • Develop a continuous improvement research and development culture, including best practices and common language.
  • Responsible for its interactions and engagements with all regional stakeholders.
  • You will provide strategic leadership, development and talent management for direct reports and their organization, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also coordinate subordinate managers and supervisors in selecting staff to align with current and future needs of the organization.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Research and development work experience (with cirect B2Bor B2C customer experience)
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience
  • Open to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree/PhD/MBA in a scientific discipline or related field
  • Confirmed experience in the protein industry
  • Experience in developing technology road maps
  • Experience in project and portfolio management.
  • Technical, processing and/or commercial experience in some of the groups key product areas.
