Job Title: Validation Chemist

Department: Quasar Instruments

Reports to: Validation Manager

Job Summary:

This position will oversee coordinating and conducting LCMS validations with customers. This includes experiment review, data review analysis, creating and reviewing validation documents, problem solving issues, and managing customers through the validation process. Position requires ability to modify validation processes, experiments, or other items as necessary for customer needs. This position will assist customers with maintenance, troubleshooting and quality concerns for their LCMS. In addition, this role will provide training to customers and requires understanding the COLA and CLIA requirements for LCMS Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs). In addition to validations, additional laboratory support may be provided to customers.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees validation project with assigned customers
  • Perform assigned customer trainings (can include travel)
  • Data review analysis
  • Create and review LCMS validation reports and SOPs
  • Provide technical training and support to staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related science

· Minimum of 1 year experience using LCMS instruments in; analytical chemistry, or clinical urine toxicology

· Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory.

· Thorough understanding and demonstrated proficient use of all auxiliary equipment and reagents (Pipettes, SDS sheets, organic vs aqueous, PPE, centrifuge, etc.)

 

Preferred:

· Data review experience on Agilent LCMS systems

· Experience with COLA or CLIA accreditation of LCMS LDTs
