The Valet Parking Attendant at Courtyard Norfolk Downtown is responsible for greeting guests, helping to unload luggage, parking cars carefully, and returning vehicles quickly when guests are ready to leave. This person will have the stamina to stand for extended periods of time while remaining vibrant and friendly.
Responsibilities:
- Safe and efficient driving while obeying all laws
- Assist guests with luggage as needed (can be heavy lifting)
- Assist guests with hotel and area information
- Provide a clean and safe environment for guests
- Proactively maintain assigned areas and equipment
- Clean and maintain common areas of the property including the parking lot
- Deep cleaning of assigned areas
- Ensure efficiently completion of daily assignments in a timely manner
- Use supplies efficiently
- Report all safety, maintenance, and housekeeping concerns to management
- Attend and participate in all mandatory training
- Flexible with schedule and assignments
- Maintain effective performance under pressure
- Follow proper procedures for lost and found items
- Follow guest safety procedures
- Follow guest requests, i.e. do not disturb signs, change of linen or terry
- Acknowledge and greet guests in public spaces
- Review daily inventory of supplies needed to complete assignments
- May perform other similar duties as requested by the supervisor
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a good record, MVR check periodically
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Attention to detail
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35-50 pounds
- Ability to multi-task
- Display good initiative
- A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
- A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
