Position Title: Valet Driver
Department: Hospitality
Exempt Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Director of Hospitality
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting and retrieving residents and visitor vehicles. Also responsible
for welcoming residents and visitors, give a fond farewell, assisting residents and visitors
with luggage or personal items, providing directions and any other resident or visitors
related assistance. Monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking
areas/levels, and report any safety or security problems.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties: Must be willing and able to do the following:
- Assist residents and visitors with opening/closing vehicle doors
- Open community main doors and assist resident and visitors entering/leaving the
community
- Welcome residents and visitors with appropriate greetings of the day
- Acknowledge and greet residents and visitors within 30-60 seconds and provide
professional, fast and friendly service
- Ability to drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Drive and effectively park and retrieve resident and visitor cars without causing
damage to the vehicle
- Tag visitor vehicle keys with date/time, license number, make/model, and contact
number of the visitor
- Provide correct counter receipt of valet parking to guest
- Verify visitor’s receipt with the one attached to the key before handing over
keys/vehicle to the visitor
- Able to communicate parking procedures to residents and visitors
- Ensure all vehicles are legally parked and to maintain a smooth and efficient flow
of traffic
- Document and report all vehicle incidents like damages, accidents, theft, etc.
- Report accidents, injuries, security, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor
or manager
- Monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas, portico,
and behind the valet stand
- Load/unload resident personal items when requested/needed
- Follow written and oral directions
- Attend all in-services as assigned or requested
- Observe all community safety policies and procedures to ensure resident safety at
all times
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism during
interactions with individuals (residents, family members, staff, etc.)
- Other duties will be assigned as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements
determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed
Must possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the
Valet/Driver Selection Policy
Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language
Must be artistically creative, motivational, and energetic with a passion for serving
others
Must possess patience and sensitivity to others’ needs; ability to work with
community groups; willingness to work beyond normal working hours
Good communication skills (oral and written)
Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. with assistance occasionally
Pushes and pulls up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Climbs, reaches, bends and twists occasionally
Talks and listens proactively
Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Uses tools and equipment on the job such as: cellular phone, and/or 2-way radio
