Vacuum Truck Operator

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

AZTEC is seeking a Vacuum Truck Operator/Utility Locator in Phoenix, AZ. The role is responsible for performing field labor and minor maintenance tasks. Field labor tasks include performing vacuum excavation and utility destination tasks. These tasks include operating excavation equipment, documenting finds in the field, and various office tasks.

Primary Job Duties:

• Driving equipment trucks
• Operating vacuum excavation equipment and tools
• Filling out field forms and daily work logs
• Performing minor maintenance on tools and equipment

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

• Entry-level position, one (1) year of Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is preferred
• Basic computer skills, which includes MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Familiarized with electronic utility locating techniques and equipment
• Being able to pass a drug screening and background check
• Clean driving record
• Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings
• Ability to travel to multiple worksites and occasional out-of-town travel
• Ability to lift 95 pounds
• Be able to handle certain construction equipment including a 95-pound pavement breaker
• Ability to walk two miles
• Ability to work outside for over six hours at a time
• Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
