Job Title

Vacation Helper, Multifamily (Union)

Job Description Summary

The Union Vacation Helper will work for Cushman & Wakefield as a temporary union employee for no more than 5 months of employment. This Vacation Helper will have a combination of concierge, porter, and maintenance technician duties. This position will clean vacant units in preparation for occupancy, all communal areas within the building, offices, and residential units. The Vacation Helper will report to the Superintendent or the Property Manager.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Cleans the property business office, restrooms, laundry rooms, model apartments and property communal areas on a defined schedule

  • Cleans vacant apartment units in preparation for showing and occupancy

  • Moping, sweeping, and vacuuming property

  • Wiping down doors, windows, walls, and common areas

  • Hosing down trash bins, common walkways, and common areas

  • Trash removal or collection from common areas

  • Responsible for the overall upkeep of the property landscape and the exterior image which includes cleaning of the driveways, parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, exterior hallways, or any other public areas.

  • Responsible for providing world class customer service by addressing the concerns and maintenance needs of our residents in a friendly and professional manner

  • Reports any maintenance problems to the superintendent or property manager

  • Performs job duties using safety guidelines and reports obstacles to be doing so

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Specific duties include, but are not limited to welcoming guests, after-hours package pickup, addressing inquiries and concerns, updating communication logs or active building, etc.

  • Answer the concierge phone line and assist tenants or residents

  • Adhere to all property guideline and standards of performance

  • Prepares all market-ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet cleaning/repair, general repairs, and housekeeping to ensure a quality product to our residents.

  • Maintains grounds, and dog parks to keep them clean, free of trash, debris, and other safety issues.

  • Reports any maintenance issues, vacant repairs, property damages, and common area needs to the superintendent or property manager.

  • within project deadlines.

  • Provides solutions to routine and complex problems.


COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job duties

  • Experience cleaning multifamily residential or commercial buildings preferred

  • Able to follow directions and handle projects

  • Able to complete tasks on time

  • Able to follow all Cushman & Wakefield safety policies and procedures

  • Follow all union policies and procedures

  • Be a team player

  • Able to communicate with all levels of management


IMPORTANT EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school

  • Some related experience


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regularly required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time. They must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; regularly operate office machinery. The employee must be able to travel up to 10% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration. The employee must demonstrate the ability to exert up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
