UX/UI Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented UX/UI Manager to join our team. The UX/UI Manager is responsible for developing an overarching UX/UI strategy that leads to an intuitive, simple, and meaningful user journey when interacting with our website, digital products, and services. This involves the design of user-facing items, including planning, developing strategy, executing, and analyzing for usability and function to create a desirable experience with the Juniper Systems brand.
This position is highly collaborative and works closely with Users, Web Developers, Graphic Designers, Marketers, Product Managers, Software Developers, Product Engineers, Customer Success, and Technical Support personnel among others.
The UX/UI Manager will be involved in setting design standards, mentoring other UX/UI designers, and helping to shape the overall strategy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Keep up to date on industry trends, establish and advocate for UX/UI best practices, guidelines and standards, and emerging technologies; contribute to improvements in process and workflow.
  • Create detailed design specifications, guidelines, and assets for development teams to ensure consistent implementation.
  • Develop wireframes and interactive prototypes that outline the layout and functionality of digital interfaces, allowing for early testing, feedback, and refinement of solutions.
  • Ensure that digital products are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, by adhering to accessibility standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other designers to maintain design consistency and coherence across the product as appropriate.
  • Perform needs audits across our website, digital products, and other customer-facing items.
  • Be an active member of the website team for Junipersys.com and Harvestmaster.com.
  • Working closely with the Art Director, lead the work on a redesign of the Juniper Systems and HarvestMaster websites.
  • Be an active member of the digital product teams and manage and direct assigned UX/UI designers during projects with these teams.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience and a bachelors degree in a related field, or an equivalent of working experience in digital design, human-computer interaction, or related fields.
  • A strong online portfolio showcasing a range of UX/UI design projects.
  • Proficiency with Adobe XD. (Figma, Sketch, and other creative suite applications a plus)
  • Experience with Windows, Android, and iOS environments
  • Passion for identifying and solving real user problems.
  • Must have a strong understanding of current design trends and best practices as well as awareness of emerging web and mobile device standards.
  • Experience working with Application Software that interfaces to hardware systems.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices.
  • Ability to conduct user research and translate findings into actionable design solutions.
  • Knowledge of common research methodologies (such as A/B testing)
  • Ability to empathize with users, anticipate their needs, and design intuitive interactions.
Responsibility, Accountability, and Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position will supervise a UX/UI Designer who will work closely with product management and development teams.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • This position will report to the Marketing Manager. Assignments and projects will be assigned as the UX/UI Manager and Marketing Manager meet and the position will report on ongoing projects that the UX/UI team is working on.
  • Working closely with the company’s Art Director, the UX/UI Manager plays an important role in helping set and maintain our brand image.
  • This position is accountable for providing an excellent user experience that supports and builds on our brand and produces high customer satisfaction. Key metrics that will validate the performance of this position may include:
    • Net Promotor Score
    • User Retention Rate
    • Website bounce rate or visitor duration
    • On-time performance of individual tasks and assignments
    • And others as appropriate
Working Hours and Conditions:
Normal 40 hours per week, normal time off for holidays. Weekend work is not typically required. Typically required travel is less than 15 nights per year, which travel might include some weekend time. This position is eligible for our 9/80 work structure, resulting in having every other Friday off.
