Job description

Overview
The UX Developer will work in a cross-functional and highly collaborative team of developers, UX designers and marketing team members to design modern user experiences across C Spire's multiple digital platforms. Candidates must be knowledgeable of experience design with a strong background in graphic design and web design. Must be able to implement industry best practices for both web design and front-end web development. Should be comfortable solving UI/UX design challenges for large scale and small scale responsive web-based projects and marketing campaigns in a fast pace environment. Experience with enterprise eCommerce solutions a plus.
This position is available as an UX Developer I, UX Developer II, or UX Developer III; depending on experience.
Responsibilities
  • Create innovative clean design concepts using industry best practices to enhance website and mobile app design and functionality though the use of various UI design tools. Design/Develop UIs and production ready assets for landing pages, full end-to-end digital user experiences, and other web site assets as needed optimized for web and mobile.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide design solutions from wireframes to high fidelity comps across multiple platforms and tools using industry best practices. Work closely with the marketing and project teams to design engaging interfaces across multiple platforms (i.e. responsive web sites, mobile apps, etc.).
  • Possess familiarity with or demonstrate the ability to learn the C Spire business processes and digital environment. This includes environments, tools, policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company brand platform as well as the marketing plan for both Consumer and Enterprise brands. Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods. Provide clear, concise documentation for code and style guide.
  • Works closely with development and QA teams to understand platform capabilities, communicate design specifications, support agile development, and verify design implementations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications
  • UX Developer I
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as graphic design, industrial design, information systems, or computer science or equivalent professional experience required.
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the UX/UI design field is required.
    • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge required.
    • Knowledge of graphic design software required (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite), including but not limited to Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver and Acrobat.
    • Ability to obtain a solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation required.
    • Additional preferred skills include strong written, verbal and organization skills; excellent planning and execution, with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and proofreading, editing, layout, design and interactive production.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets required.
  • UX Developer II
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as graphic design, industrial design, information systems, or computer science or equivalent professional experience required.
    • A minimum of 2+ years direct experience in web or UI/UX design required.
    • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the UX/UI design field is required.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript required.
    • Strong experience in graphic design software required (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite), including but not limited to Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver and Acrobat.
    • Solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation required.
    • Experience in mobile web applications required.
    • Additional preferred skills include strong written, verbal and organization skills; excellent planning and execution, with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and proofreading, editing, layout, design and interactive production.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets required.
  • UX Developer III
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as graphic design, industrial design, information systems, or computer science or equivalent professional experience required.
    • A minimum of 5+ years direct experience in web or UI/UX design required.
    • Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the interactive design field is required.
    • Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript required.
    • Extensive experience in graphic design software required (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite), including but not limited to Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver and Acrobat.
    • Extensive understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation required.
    • Extensive experience in mobile web applications required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members.
