Automation Personnel Services is seeking a R&D Chemist with a background in UV chemistry related to inks, coatings, and adhesives at our Charlotte, NC location. This is a hands-on position which requires extensive bench work coupled with direct supplier contact for technical support.
Pay Rate – Depending on Experience
$55k - $60k (fresh out of college with degree)
$55k - $60k (fresh out of college with degree)
$$60k - $70k (B.S. degree and 3-5 years of experience)
$70k - $80k (B.S. degree and 5-8 years of experience)
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and formulate UV coatings and adhesives for the graphic arts industry
- Perform qualifications of new raw materials for developmental projects
- Continued support of quality control through establishing specific testing and procedures
- Involved in scale up and troubleshooting in manufacturing
- Communicate internally and externally with sales forces on customer specific projects
- Document and write internal reports
- Maintain laboratory equipment and work space
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent with at least 3+ years of experience formulating UV inks, coating or adhesives for graphics industry
- Knowledge of 100% solids UV curable materials relating to the graphic arts market
- Basic understanding of various printing, coating, and converting applications
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas, test methods, and results both verbally and in writing
- Work independently on certain projects
