Join Our Team: Utilization Management Supervisor with Dental Insurance Industry Experience
This position is responsible for overseeing Utilization Management (UM) staff, managing inventory turnaround times and deadlines, and creating and distributing daily and weekly reports to staff and management. Monitors and redistributes workload as needed, fosters staff development, supports and displays a teamwork atmosphere, and improves department morale. The UM Supervisor will work directly with front line staff to ensure processing guidelines are followed and clients’ Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, evaluation, and selection.
- Update job descriptions and develop performance expectations.
- Supervise employee and team performance.
- Train and provide adequate coaching, counseling, and motivation; identify training needs and coordinate time with the department trainer as needed.
- Evaluate performance and conduct annual performance reviews; investigate complaints or performance concerns as needed.
- Implement performance improvement plan or disciplinary action.
- Meet project deadlines and communicate project status to manager as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in Claims or Utilization Management processing experience with emphasis in Medicaid PPO, and HMO required prior supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
Specific Skills/Knowledge
- Dental knowledge required.
- Understanding of health care call center preferred.
- Must have strong MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of pre-authorization/referral determination and processing.
- Knowledge of claims/UM systems and information technology.

COMPENSATION
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $58,760 - $76,388, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at LIBERTY, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any, final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
