Job Description
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a full-time UM Coordinator for a client in Sacramento, CA on a contract to hire basis. The client requires the representative to play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting activities related to authorization processing for outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory services.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer phones promptly and professionally, directing calls to the appropriate staff.
Respond to routine requests and maintain an accurate phone call log.
Complete customer service tickets daily.
Process inpatient notifications within established guidelines and turnaround time.
Update and submit logs and reports to health plans, including face sheets, denials, and daily inpatient census reports.
Generate denial eligibility letters.
Work effectively with providers, nurses, case managers, and Medical Directors to ensure timely and accurate processing of manual referrals.
Receive and enter appropriate information from referrals.
Create, approve, and modify referrals in accordance with established guidelines.
Update and maintain inpatient census information on a daily basis.
Verify member eligibility and request clinical records as needed.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Recognize and enforce company security measures, maintain strict confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA standards.
Qualifications:
2+ years of Utilization Management coordination experience.
3+ years of experience in the medical field.
Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM.
Proficiency with computer and standard business software (MS Office applications).
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies.
Compensation: $18-$20/hr
