The Utility Systems Repairer and Operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair requirements of a minimum 3 high pressure steam generating boilers and of a membrane-based Ultra Filtration water treatment plant. Work will involve, installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing Utility Systems. as established by the Utilities Systems Supervisor, Facilities Management Deputy or Service Chief,, for the Sheridan Veterans Affairs Medical Center.Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/04/2024.
Note:Condition of Employment: Must have current Wyoming Class 2 Water Treatment Plant License, Class 1 Water Distribution License and Class 1 Collections License or be capable of obtaining these licenses within 1 year from the start of employment.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in the operation of membrane-based filtration type treatment plants, water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, and operating high pressure steam boiler system
Length of Experience: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Frequently work in confined areas in and around boilers and water treatment plant. Requires moderate to strenuous effort and long periods of walking, standing, climbing, bending, and crouching. Frequently lift and carry parts and chemical supplies weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
