Utility / Maintenance Assistant - 3rd Shift

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Maintenance Assistant is extremely committed to excellence, while servicing and performing preventative and general maintenance on machines and company vehicles to ensure optimal efficiency. The 3rd Shift employee will earn an additional $2 shift differential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic oil changes and maintenance on fleet vehicles, including checking oil levels and changing as needed.
• Change air, oil, and fuel filters as needed.
• Grease kingpins and drive axles to ensure proper lubrication.
• Check and maintain differential fluid levels, antifreeze levels, and brake fluid.
• Monitor tire pressure, tread depth, and overall condition of fleet vehicles.
• Strap A-frames and load trucks nightly.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in the best possible condition to guarantee productive manufacturing and high-level appearance.
• Drive Company box trucks locally and transfer trucks to other Classic Rock locations as needed.
• Perform shop duties assigned, including machine operation during periods of high production demand or absences.
• Organize and track tools and maintenance supplies.
• Perform various light industrial maintenance tasks to support production operations.
• Work independently, ensuring all required tasks are finished each shift.
• Maintain records for all maintenance activities performed and report problems to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and vendors. Must speak fluent English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

DOT Medical Clearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, handling, and repetitive motions.

The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 125 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily indoor production area and occasionally outdoor environment. Steel toe boots and safety glasses required. Hearing protection required in some areas.

WORK SCHEDULE

Eight (8) to ten (10) hour workdays on a steady 3rd Shift Sunday night through Friday morning, with potential for overtime and Saturday hours as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
