Our Machine Inspectors will perform perform accurate and thorough visual inspections (wear points, damage, hour meter readings, etc.) and functional testing (basic operations) on heavy equipment. 


WHAT WILL I DO?

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of company. Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment. 
  • Travel to customer sites to inspect equipment. 
  • Compose descriptions and take photos of the equipment.
  • Operate equipment as part of inspection process. 
  • Ensure the quality of equipment data and other related information. 
  • Gather and verify equipment inventory information (contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers, inspection plates etc.). Identify and record equipment components, accessories and asset details. 
  • Verify requirements for warranty applicable items.
  • Assist the Sales Team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods. 
  • Perform undercarriage inspections as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


Requirements

WHAT DO I NEED?

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent required, 
  • post-secondary education preferred. 
  • Prior experience in equipment management (inspections, inventory, and appraisals) and/or inventory control management, preferably in the auction or heavy equipment business. 
  • Knowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks, and trailers. 
  • Previous sales and negotiating experience a plus. 
  • Must have experience operating heavy equipment in a safe and professional manner. 
  • Foundational set of tools required to complete essential inspection functions of job. 
  • Organizational and time management skills required. 
  • Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines. 
  • Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision. 
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required. 
  • Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of the company with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner. 
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations. 
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment. Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.). 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy. 
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. 

Working Conditions 

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials. Extensive car travel primarily throughout Arkansas, other locations, as necessary. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively. Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting. Must be able to lift varied weight. Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities. Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities. 


 This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
