What you'll do...
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our Payroll Technology Team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, SQL, and DB2.
  • Implement and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Utilize Python for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Follow best practices and standards for software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure the reliability and performance of mainframe applications.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of Agile development process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications in a timely manner.

What you'll bring:
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Mainframe technologies.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, SQL, and DB2.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Python scripting for automation tasks is highly desirable.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with Scheduler like Control-M or Airflow.
  • Knowledge of mainframe modernization techniques and tools is a plus.
