What you'll do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, SQL, and DB2.
- Implement and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Utilize Python for automation and scripting tasks.
- Follow best practices and standards for software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure the reliability and performance of mainframe applications.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of Agile development process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications in a timely manner.
What you'll bring:
- 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Mainframe technologies.
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, SQL, and DB2.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Python scripting for automation tasks is highly desirable.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with Scheduler like Control-M or Airflow.
- Knowledge of mainframe modernization techniques and tools is a plus.
