What you'll do...
The Solution and Identification Management Team (SIM) is looking for a Senior Risk Specialist in Cybersecurity that has a passion for creating solutions and solving problems. Ideal candidates should have strong background in security and compliance awareness. This is an internal customer facing role with exposure to big data processing, report development, analytics, and compliance.
About Team:
The Solutions and Identification (SIM) team at Walmart is responsible for managing and tracking deviations from the desired network state. They work with the stakeholders to mitigate the existing vulnerabilities as well as formulate proactive strategies to improve overall technical health of Walmart's systems. The SIM team utilizes analytics to determine pattern and trending data and partners across technology to ensure visibility and resolution.

What you'll do:
  • Provide leadership across a senior team of Information Security professionals daily to build tools, processes, and a deep understanding of security controls to analyze and communicate and reduce the risk of vulnerabilities across the company.
  • Partner with technologists, leaders and other stakeholders to develop process improvement roadmaps that are proactive in nature.
  • Use your knowledge of applicable technology stacks, platforms, and deployed controls to create analytics to help communicate prioritization and risk resulting in remediation.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to reduce introduction of vulnerabilities into the environment through the use of continuous integration deployment solutions.
  • D evelop cloud (Azure / GCP) based vulnerability prevention mechanisms and strategies.
  • Assess the risk posed across a wide range of technologies, prioritizing risk remediation/mitigation, understanding exploitability and impact to the business.
  • Be ready to grow, learn and partner with amazing people and technologies.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience with being well-versed in the technology stack and the security controls found in each level.
  • Eagerness to explore new platforms and technologies to help the business grow securely.
  • Enjoyment using your experience to develop solutions that will enable better insight of the enterprise, identifying gaps and areas of improvement.
  • Natural curiosity with a passion for learning and understanding the extensive breadth of technology.
  • Partnership with other technologists and leaders to deliver solutions securely at the speed of business.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or related field and 3 years' experience in information technology within the past 7 years OR 5 years' experience in information technology or related field within the past 7 years OR a master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Industry certifications are a PLUS! (CISSP, CCNA, CISA, CCNP, CCSK, Security+)
  • Familiarity with regulatory concepts (for example, ISO, SOX, PCI, HIPAA)
