DB2 DBA - Specialist Master

Help create new life for legacy information technology systems.

The Deloitte Application Modernization Team - specialists in converting legacy information technology systems to modern languages - is currently seeking a DB2 DBA. This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the hottest areas in the market, moving databases into public clouds such as AWS, Azure and GCP.

Recruiting for this role will end on 4/26/2024.

Work you'll do

The Application Modernization & Migration DB2 DBA responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Build - Design databases to ensure accurate and appropriate data is entered and maintained. Will build programs/scripts independently without minimal or no handholding. Team member should be able to guide the junior members of the team technically.
  • Delivery - Manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Responsibilities include, among others, managing teams in the identification of migration approaches, migration plans, tools, timeline and execution.
  • Communication - Work with the Technical Lead/Project Manager for status reporting and client communication
  • Deployment Activities - Will work with Release manager/Technical Leads to work towards planning for project/product deployment and will be involved in all the activities around deployment
  • Deliverables - Will be involved in documenting and maintaining the correct version of various deliverables such as Code/BRDs/Design Docs/test plans and Scripts/Deployment Plan etc. AppMod2020

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum of 7 years as a DB2 DBA
  • Must have 5+ years experience with DB2 in a combination of 3 or more of the following:
    • Architecture and database administration
    • Commands/utilities
    • Implementation and application management projects
    • Security implementation
    • Alerting/monitoring
    • Performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting
    • Object creation and maintenance
    • Database manager/database configuration settings tuning
    • Applying fixpack maintenance/performing upgrades
    • Disaster Recovery/HADR planning and testing
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Preferred:

  • DB2 LUW DBA certified.
  • 2+ years working with and migrating to cloud based data structures within AWS, Azure or GCP

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $152,000 to $310,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
