This strategic client facing position has overall accountability for assigned Retiree Solutions clients. This senior level positions is assigned mostly tier I and tier II in-force accounts that are typically the largest most complex. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop strategic relationships with assigned clients and execute on exceeding client’s needs and expectations that will drive revenue expansion and client retention. This position will be accountable for providing strategic direction and guidance to assigned internal resources that are responsible for delivering services to customers. The Senior SAE is responsible for the overall accountability for the account maintenance, growth and increased profitability of existing business, the acquisition of new business on existing accounts, customer satisfaction and the strategic direction of assigned accounts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct strategic, customer specific initiatives, which deliver value added services through the execution of client specific business planning
  • Own the customer relationship entirely and facilitate high level contacts and decision makers
  • Coordinate and influence superior customer service delivery by developing and maintaining solid intercompany relationships
  • Develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels
  • Consistently exceeds objectives for profitability and persistency
  • Secure new business through marketing and effective product and service expansion
  • Participates and leads the RFPs and finalist presentations for their specific accounts.(NBEA situations)
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert for products, service and technology aspects
  • Establish and maintain solid and appropriate relationships with customers and consultants
  • Preparation for, and participation in, new business site visits and finalist presentations
  • Provide feedback to management and other Sr. SAEs to facilitate best practices on issues
  • Maintain a high level of healthcare industry knowledge as well as customer’s industry

Required Qualifications:

  • Life & Health State License or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • 5+ years Client management experience in a large, complex and successful insurance organization with responsibilities of meeting and exceeding customer expectations associated with insurance products
  • 2+ years of experience managing Public Sector groups larger than 25k members
  • Familiarity with aspects of healthcare sales and marketing along with a solid understanding of the impact of sales activities on operational functions and profitability
  • Proven solid attention to detail with experience ensuring adherence to contract terms
  • Proven solid strategic focus, analytical, internal control and project -management skills
  • Proven excellent presentation skills in large group settings with the expertise and sophistication needed to credibly represent the Company in the context of the company’s values and quality commitments
  • Proven ability to assess problems and implement solutions based on sound marketing, operational and financial principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and influencing effectively in a large, matrixed environment
  • Experience with Medicare and/or Medicare Advantage products
  • Proven well-developed planning capabilities and a track record in controlling costs, identifying customer needs and meeting deadlines
