JobSummary: Performs radiologic examinations following established procedures for patient care and safety, and performs general clinical duties to ensure good patient flow.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares patients for radiologic Takes X-Rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials
- Ensures equipment is in working Reports equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager.
- Logs radiologic procedures Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
- Maintains examination room; stocks necessary medical and radiologic
- Responsible for packaging, signing of medical records release forms and logging X-Rays.
- Ensures all radiographs achieve a radiographic interpretation by clarifying
- Performs general clinical duties to ensure good patient These duties include, but are not limited to:
- Taking vital signs
- Rooming in VLD
- Injections under provider supervision
- Venipuncture
- Snellen Eye Chart
- CLIA Waived Lab Testing
- Orthopedic Splinting
- Bandaging (without packing)
- Set Up and Chaperone (if needed) during procedures/exams (e.g. pelvic, laceration repairs)
- Calling 911 and transfer process
- Hazardous Waste Disposal
- Exam Room Turnover
- EKG
- Ear Lavage
- Performs Occupational Medicine Services to include UDS, BAT, various employer physicals, Audiogram, and Spirometry.
- Cross train on the patient registration process and front office procedures.
- Maintain HIPAA standards and confidentiality regarding patient personal and financial information.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum high school degree or
- ARRT or
- Virginia State Licensure.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced patient care setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred and is required within 90 days of hire.
- Currently possess or are willing to be obtain Occupational Medicine Certifications.
SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and

- Excellent communication skills with providers, staff, management, patients and
- Proficient knowledge of X-Ray procedures and
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-Ray testing including body mechanics and patient
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to
- Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying Practice Manager.
- Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and
- Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer Occasional stress in working with tense patients.

- Up-to-date on state mandated CEUs for licensure.
