Nashville Christian School, founded by members of the Churches of Christ and in partnership with students, parents and staff, strives to give honor and glory to God through Jesus Christ in all aspects of its day-to-day programs. We, Nashville Christian School, seek to provide a Christ-centered and nurturing environment in order to develop our students into committed and productive Christian servants in all areas of this life and in preparation for eternity. We, as the community of Nashville Christian School, believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, that Jesus Christ is God’s son, and that the Holy Spirit dwells in each believer. We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that God seeks to reconcile His creation to Himself. We believe that Christianity promotes high ideals, develops strong character, and holds the only promise for eternal life with God. In light of each student’s individuality, we seek to promote the development of his/her mind and character. Nashville Christian School centers its entire program, whether in or out of the classroom, on Christian principles.
DESCRIPTION
Our Mission is to be a Christian, authentic, dynamic school equipping students to be global leaders. The Nashville Christian School Teacher is a Christian professional demonstrating Christ’s love while helping students realize and pursue their full potential – spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. The Nashville Christian School teacher exemplifies the school’s mission and vision to all stakeholders.
OBJECTIVES
- The teacher has a relationship with the Lord that includes an active membership in a local church. Accordingly, each teacher must be morally upright in public and personal life.
- The teacher will support and teach the core beliefs held by the school. The teacher will lead in dress, conduct, attitude, and intellectual pursuit.
- The teacher will maintain a classroom environment that models Christ-like interaction and positively promotes student development while inspiring a love of learning. The teacher understands that as ambassadors for Christ, students are his or her first ministry.
- The teacher will use innovative teaching methods implementing critical thinking strategies. Lessons will contain hands-on, interactive activities incorporating technology using both iPads, laptops, and the Promethean Board. Instruction and assessment will be differentiated to challenge each student appropriately. The teacher will conscientiously provide accommodations to students with identified learning challenges in consultation with the school’s learning specialist.
- The teacher is responsible for finding ways to educate all children and it is the teacher’s duty to participate in professional development activities that foster this responsibility. Practices such as differentiated instruction, data-driven instruction, and identifying areas of weakness in students are crucial to developing the quality of classroom instruction.
- The teacher will consistently communicate expectations and progress to students and parents. The teacher will incorporate a variety of methods to communicate including conferences, phone calls, and email. The teacher will proficiently use Renweb as a tool to track attendance, document behavior, and post lesson plans and grades.
- The teacher will participate and initiate collaborative efforts between teachers of all departments. The teacher will support and participate in school-wide activities, particularly those pertaining to their students’ involvement.
We are looking for someone to teach in the Social Studies Department in High School. Based on the candidate, this could include World History , Economics and some other Social Studies classes.
