Over 45 years ago, Hillcrest Christian School began in the hearts and minds of members and friends of a non-denominational Christian fellowship. Hillcrest Christian School was officially established by the church, Hillcrest Christian Center, in the fall of 1977. It was originally governed by the church's board of elders and classes were held at the church. A few years later, the leadership decided to move the school to the location at 384 Erbes Road. Many volunteers labored to convert the campus from its prior use as a community hospital to the school for all our students. After approximately five years, the school was established as a charter member of Association of Christian Schools International. During the 1994-1995 school year, the school became an independent entity separate from the church but jointly shared the campus until Hillcrest Christian Center disbanded as a church effective January 30, 1995. At that time the school became the sole entity, Hillcrest Christian Center, and held title to all property. As intended by its founders, Hillcrest Christian School still exists to serve the Christian community by providing high-quality Christian education and discipleship to develop well-rounded students who will impact this world for the Lord Jesus Christ through Biblical thought and action and a deep-rooted foundation in God's Word.
